On September 2, 2016 a longtime friend of Shana Mangatal (mjhjww830) shared private email exchanges that took place in 2008 between the two. The emails show Shana conspiring with her friend to plant false information on MJ fan forums to indicate that Michael and Shana were together on New Years Eve 2007 and together at a Halloween party in 2008. These emails were revealed one week after the release of Shana’s book. For easier reading the text from each email is posted below. There were a total of eight emails exchanged between them which details the plot as follows:

Email 1: From Shana to her friend

Hey there,

Lets see what can you post on the MJ Board? I think it should be more like you saw me and MJ as opposed to you and I actually knowing each other. These fans can be skeptical and may think it is a set up if you are my friend. You didn’t know that the board existed but wanted to tell someone your story about seeing me and MJ together in Vegas on New Years Eve 2007 at the Copperfield show. You can say that it looked like we had rekindled our romance and that his kids were with him and he introduced all of us. You can say that Grace was there but was keeping her distance (this is all true by the way). You can say you saw us go up the elevator together. You went back to the MGM the next day and ran into me or something like that. You asked me about MJ and I said it was really nice to see him but I wouldn’t elaborate. Perhaps you can add on that a friend of yours in LA say they think they saw me with him this week (you can make up something). Let me know your thoughts.

I know, it is weird. I can’t remember which section it is but do a search on my name in each section. It’s either in “General Discussion” “Controversy” or “News Archives” section Or it could be in the “OMG Michael” section. You will find stuff on me in all sections…lol but the Vegas stuff has to be in one of those sections. Those fans have very active imaginations that is why it will be fun to start some stuff again. Just to see how many pages it garners. It’s also good to keep my name in their mouths. Any publicity is good publicity but show me your draft before you post. thanks!

Email 4: The next email is Shana’s response to her friend giving her ideas on what to say about seeing Shana and MJ together (Wed, 5 Nov 2008 10:46:56-0800):

First of all… GO OBAMA!!! I am sooo happy for our country! The MJ thing sounds good!! Let’s see, perhaps you should say that the beginning that you have been wanting to tell someone this info for a long time. After you say that he was staring at me the whole time, you can say I had a big smile on my face the whole time and that we kept smiling at each other. You found it weird because you were wondering who this woman could possibly be that had Michael so interested. Actually, let’s leave Grace out of it. You can just say that he had 3 bodyguards with him and they were standing off to the side or something like that. The part with him introducing me to the kids to me is good. Yeah, you can take out all of the parts regarding “the nanny” or Grace. I changed the shopping trip to a Halloween party. MJ went to Natalie Maines (Dixie Chicks) party here in LA on Friday, so that’s plausible. Here is the edited version below. You can add any flourishes that you think are needed. The general discussion section is good. Make sure that you don’t say that your name [blanked out] since you are one of my top friends on My Space. Let me know when you post it. Oh, and I like the “I Saw Shana and Michael” subject title. Thanks!!!

Here is what I edited:
I saw Michael Jackson a while ago while I was working in Vegas. I had no idea that this board existed but when a friend of mine saw him recently with the same woman, I did some searching on the Internet. After comparing notes with my friend and doing searches on the Internet. I found this woman to be Shana Mangatal. I found this site to be legit and wanted to let his fans know what I saw. Previously, I worked at a theatre in Vegas. On New Year’s Eve in 2007, I saw Michael Jackson at the David Copperfield show I was stunned to see Michael Jackson in the flesh. But what really caught my attention was that he was very obviously staring at this woman, Shana, the whole time. I wondered if he actually saw any of the show because he was staring at her so hard. He hard 3 bodyguards with him and they were standing off to the side. Shana had a big smile on her face the whole time. Shana and Michael kept smiling at each other. I found it weird because at the time, I was wondering who this woman could possibly be that had Michael so interested. After the show, he took his kids over to say hi to Shana. He hugged her for a very long time and I distinctly heard him say “You’re looking good!” Then, I watched them all go up in an elevator together. When I went back to work the next day, I saw Shana again. I found out later that she lived in the hotel. I walked up to her and said hi. She looked a little surprised but said hi back. She is really beautiful up close and I can see why Michael was all hugged up on her. I said I saw her with Michael Jackson yesterday. Immediately, her eyes shifted and she seemed nervous. She said yes I saw Michael yesterday and it was really nice to see him. I saw she was feeling real uncomfortable so I asked her quickly if she was with him. She just started walking off and said bye it was nice meeting you. I was like okay, that was strange. So that was New Years 2007 but my friend who encouraged me to post this said he saw Shana and Michael hanging out together at a Halloween party in LA. He said they were trying to act like they were not together or liked each other but it was obvious to everyone. How long has Michael been with Shana? It looks like they are trying to keep this on the DL.

Email 5, 6, and 7: Shana’s friend letting Shana know that she has posted the fraudulent information in a MJ fan forum. Shana’s reply to the friend:

Here’s the final product and was posted by Shana’s friend (mjhjww830) on the KOP Board, which is a very popular MJ Fan Forum, and as you can see Shana found another co- conspirator to go in on this plot with them named Olga (see pictures below).

As you can see from the pictures below, Shana and Olga are friends in real life. Olga’s account of what happened on New Year’s Eve 2006 was simply not true. She said that she could “100% confirm” the false version of events that Shana had her friend share on the fan forum. Just as Shana instructed her friend via email to post those false stories on forums, she also instructed Olga to corroborate those very same false stories.

Below is a picture of Michael at the David Copperfield show in Las Vegas on New Years Eve 2007. As you can see, Michael is wearing sunglasses, a hat, a hoodie over the hat and a mask. You cannot see Michael’s eyes nor his mouth so there was no way anyone could have seen him staring and smiling at Shana the entire time as the story is told.

Email 8 is from Shana to her friend:

The email above reads:
Someone started another thread on me on that MJ board. i’m so popular with the fans…lol! If only I could capitalize on it!

Although Shana’s friend deleted the emails from the site in which she revealed them, viewers of the site were able to take screen shots of the emails. Once Shana was informed that the friend posted these emails on social media which revealed that she was behind this plot to fool MJ fans, Shana went into a tirade and sent these texts to her now former friend and her former friend’s brother :

Shana’s former friend then posted an explanation as to why she decided to post the email exchange between her and Shana in the same forum where she posted the emails that exposed Shana:

To date no legal action has been taken on Shana’s former friend for posting these emails because there were no grounds to sue. You can’t sue someone for telling the truth.

The email exchanges between Shana and her friend contained quite a bit of interesting information but something stood out that may explain Shana’s intense desire to be connected to Michael Jackson. Did you catch it? If not, I’ll repeat what Shana said in the very last email to her friend:
